Solar Powered Street Lights
Our commercial solar street lights do not rely on the utility grid, allowing them to be installed on rural roads and streets without running power to the light pole. SLI’s X-35-LED and Stealth II model solar-powered street lights are engineered for a long service life, use Philips Illumined 5050 LED chips and long-life LiFePO4 batteries, and are powder-coated to resist harsh saltwater environments.
Our solar lights are Dark Sky compliant and eliminate the light pollution that traditional lamps produce, thanks to the directional illumination of LED technology and our light-fixture design.
Pole Mounted Solar Street Lamps
Solar Lighting International offers solar streetlights in multiple brightness options: 6,600, 7,400, 13,300, 14,800, 16,000, and 22,200 lumens for standard streetlight fixtures. SLI can even double the lights on the pole for up to 44,400 lumens for environments where super-bright, wide roadway coverage is required.

Solar System for Street Lighting
The solar cells we use are tested to a higher standard than most, and the solar panels’ mounting design protects your investment even in high-wind conditions. Our street-lighting solar systems operate from dusk to dawn without dimming, and we provide integrated sensors to help you save energy when you need an extra boost of light for custom street-light applications.
We specialize in the design of comprehensive commercial LED streetlight projects that meet and exceed any AASHTO lighting or DOT requirement. Our brightest solar street lights have been used in projects with FDOT, TxDOT, CODOT, OKDOT, CALTRANS, and more, with a solid track record of successfully delivering projects internationally as well, working across many cultures and languages.
Solar Light Technology
The monocrystalline photovoltaic panel is mounted at the top of the solar light pole, facing south, in direct sunlight with no shade. The system incorporates a high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panel, an MPPT charge controller, and a long-life LiFePO4 battery assembly integrated into a slim, corrosion-resistant IP67 housing. Optional IoT smart-city technology and software integration is also standard on our larger Stealth II 120-23 versions.
The mounted panel uses sunlight to charge the battery throughout the day to provide energy during the night. Our engineers design your system considering a variety of parameters, including the location of the light, local wind-load requirements, winter weather conditions, and the operation profile.
Solar Battery Life and Run Time
Depending on your needs and region, Solar Lighting International offers a wide range of battery options. Our standard is long-life LiFePO4 battery technology for reliability and minimum maintenance. Standard gel or AGM batteries should be replaced every 3–5 years depending on climate, while the Stealth II LiFePO4 battery lifespan is around 7 years.
Our standard runtime on battery backup is three days, dusk to dawn without dimming, for most environments. When it is time to replace your battery, SLI will be here to support you and your project.
Solar Light Power Configurations
Commercial-grade solar street lights have become increasingly popular, and are now commonly considered the most environmentally friendly alternative to utility-grid lights. They are an ideal replacement for most applications since they are cost-effective, sustainable, low-maintenance renewable energy sources, and they add reliability to any community because they are not connected to the grid and can operate under most conditions (including natural disasters) without requiring backup power.
With many operating configurations and options, these lamps can run at any time. They can be programmed to turn on at dusk and off at dawn, or to turn on and off at various times, cutoff periods that help reduce light pollution and light trespass.
